Testimonies
“Many times I’ve heard the Journey is long and hard, but in the end, the rewards are great. This is so true and that is how I serve the Lord. I never ask ‘why’, but rather ‘Yes, Lord, what is it you wish for me to do for your Kingdom?”
– Danny Saldana

2008 is a new year in which to put things into perspective. Part of that is me honestly evaluating what I bring before the Lord and raising my commitment to a whole new level with Him. To be more devoted in all that I do is an exciting thing to keep before me as I say “Yes Lord” in 2008.

“I believe that the Lord has been preparing the church for an unprecedented year here at Fortress Church. New and great things are happening in the Media Ministry and the Financial Freedom Ministry. I already started counting the blessings and getting testimonies. Certainly and with or without me, the Lord is going to do something big this year. I want to be part of it and give (time, talents, and treasures) a little from the many blessings the Lord has given me. I want to put my grain of sand in this great journey.”

As Christians we all want to say, "Yes, Lord, I'll go where you want me to go, " "Yes ,Lord, I'll do what you want me to do." Now is our chance to put action to our confession. Now is our time to say, "Yes, Lord use me!"

I (we) believe in Biblical Stewardship and the “Yes Lord” Campaign for two key reasons:
The discovery of true Biblical Stewardship has revolutionized our giving and the resulting rewards have been too numerous to count. When we gained a heartfelt understanding of Biblical Stewardship, God’s blessings began to flow more abundantly than ever. When Paul teaches and encourages the Corinthians (2 Corinthians 8 & 9), He praises and encourages them about the overflowing joy of the people related to their attitude about giving.
The “Yes Lord” campaign gives every member at Fortress the opportunity to share in the excitement and in the “eager willingness” of a job well done. (2 Cor. 8, vs. 11 & 12)
Further, when we truly understand the laws of the harvest, we will all share the heart of a cheerful giver. God loves that! (2 Cor. 9, vs. 6, 7 & 8)

I am very excited about our 2008 journey, and all the extra room we will have because of our new buildings. Room to . . . learn more, teach more, grow more, reach more, come and join us for a great journey, say "Yes, Lord".

The experiences I had when I started tithing were immediate. I read in the Word that I needed to tithe. When I gave my life to the Lord, I started to tithe immediately, and I noticed that everything that I did and everything that I touched prospered. Anytime I had difficulty, I would turn it over to the Lord and it didn’t take long before I gave it all to him. Instantly, I would see the reaping of the benefits of tithing. It has blessed my business. It has blessed my family. It’s blessed many others that I brought to the kingdom. I thank God that He taught me this principle - it’s part of being a Christian - giving back to the kingdom of God. Tithing is the most beautiful of blessings you can experience.
I encourage anyone to experience what I’ve experienced by tithing. Give of yourself, not just financially, but of your life, your time, of your service. Most of all trust the Lord with everything - with all your heart. He will bless you, like you’ve never been blessed before.

I heard a preacher tell the story about David and how he slew Goliath. He asked, “was it the stone that killed Goliath, or was it the Lord?” Well, it’s both. Likewise, stewardship is not only tithing, but also taking control of your finances. I can’t sit here and tell you that because we tithe, everything is OK with our finances. There is a Greek word used to describe this – boloney. It takes us – when we paid off our vehicles – not going out and buying a more expensive one right away. We’re going to drive them for a while – save money, make sure that we have enough money to bless others. We paid off the house, and we don’t have credit card debt, but it took discipline.
