Q & A

What is “Stewardship”?

Stewardship is the management of the resources God gives us, i.e. time, talents, and treasures.

What is a capital stewardship campaign?

A capital stewardship campaign is a church-wide concerted effort to raise the level of stewardship of the entire Body of Christ, so that we can minister as God intended.

What is the purpose of the “Yes, Lord!” Capital Campaign?

The purpose of our “Yes, Lord!” Capital Campaign is two-fold: (1) to live deeper spiritual lives in obedience to stewardship, and (2) to raise funds to pay off the debt of the new Multi-Purpose Center .

How will the campaign be conducted?

The campaign will be held from now through May 4, 2008 . There will be a series of P.I.E. Meetings (Pastoral Information Exchange), stewardship lessons, Sunday sermons, and printed materials to present “Yes, Lord!” to everyone in the church.

What is the financial goal of “Yes, Lord!”?

The cost of building the Multi-Purpose Center and the Christian Education Annex is approximately $ 1.6 million. During the last three years, the congregation of Fortress Church has given approximately $ 300,000.00 to the Enlarging the Vision Building Fund. Therefore, our goal for “Yes, Lord!” is to raise 1.3 million.

What will the Multi-Purpose Center be used for?

The MPC will be used on Sundays as a Spanish Worship Center . On Wednesdays, it will be used as our Youth Worship Center . Other days, it will serve as our gymnasium and special events center. It will seat more people than our main sanctuary.

When will the new buildings be dedicated?

Sunday, May 4, 2008

How can I get more information and perhaps consider being a part of “Yes, Lord!”?

Detailed information and Q & A sessions will be held at 18 Home Fellowships, called P.I.E. Meetings (Pastoral Informational Exchange). We’d love for you to attend one of the P.I.E. Meetings and partner with us in prayer about the project. Dates and locations are posted on this website, www.yeslordfc.com

Will I be asked to give to the “Yes, Lord!” Campaign?

We ask that you would pray about giving to “Yes, Lord!” and simply obey as God leads. The reason we are taking time to pray before May 4th, is because we are not looking for an emotional response, we want it to be led the Holy Spirit. Sunday, May 4, 2008 is Dedication Sunday, as well as Commitment Sunday. This is when we will be bringing our financial gifts and pledges forward. Whether you choose to make a one-time contribution or a 36-month pledge, the Lord will be honored.

If I have been giving to the Enlarging the Vision Building Fund, do I continue?

Being that the 3 year commitment to Enlarging the Vision has been completed, we ask that you discontinue your contributions to ETV. Then, you can pray about your involvement to “Yes, Lord!”
